From the three trades with their cultures and their organization style, all related to a technique «the cold»:
- warehouseman of frozen products (STEF Logistique)
- conveyor of fresh products (STEF Transport)
- transporters of sea and frozen products (STEF Seafood)
The Group has grown by anticipating and following its customers’needs, toward a comprehensive approach where energies become synergies and where the differences become assets.
- 1920: Creation of STEF
- 1964: Creation of TFE
- 1974: Creation of TRADIMAR
- 1987-1989: The Atlantic financial becomes a group
- 1993: Financial privatization of the Group of The Atlantic
- 1996: The Group is called STEF-TFE
- 1998: Going public
- 1999: creation of AGROSTAR
- 2005: CAVALIERI joined the group (26 sites in Italy)
- 2006: Integration of CRYOLOGISTIC
- 2008: Organization of the first European University of cold and Food Logistics
- 2009: STEF Courcelles became the 3rd site in Belgium
- 2009: STEF-TFE takes a majority stake in Swiss SGF.
- 2011: Dispensa Logistics joined the group
- 2012: The Group is called STEF
Each trade has naturally found its place in a coherent unit where are defined:

- A technicality: the cold
- A geographical extension: Europe
