A new STEF-TFE site for seafood in Rome

A new STEF-TFE site for seafood in Rome

Published : 15-02-2011

The European specialist for cold logistics strengthens Tradimar in Italy. Tradimar, STEF-TFE’s arm for seafood, opened in Rome a new site for transport and associated logistics.

Italy is the number two country in Europe for seafood consumption, after Spain and before the United Kingdom. To strengthen our presence in this country was of the upmost importance. Added to our site in Milan, the opening of a new Tradimar will tighten up our network. This will help us meet the growing demand for logistics in Southern Italy and to cover most of the market for seafood transport in the country”, Bernard Jolivet, STEF-TFE Vice president and chief operating officer said.

STEF-TFE invests and grows in Italy

With a total turnover of € 139 million in 2010, Italy is STEF-TFE’s largest market outside France and the country where the French group is growing at the most robust rate in volume terms, before Spain.
With Tradimar Rome, STEF-TFE now has 27 sites. It has now 330 employees in Italy under three brands: Cavalieri (fresh produce groupage), TFE D.A. (international transport) and Tradimar.
Initiated in the late 80s, STEF-TFE’s drive in Europe was in 2005 boosted by the acquisition of a controlling stake in Cavalieri, which became a 100% subsidiary in 2008. This Italian offshoot allows the Group to offer a complete range of transportation and logistics services for fresh produce throughout southern Europe.
