STEF partner of a river transport line for Ferrero

On 8 July, Ferrero inaugurated its new river freight link on the Seine in partnership with STEF.

Ferrero has chosen to ship some of its Nutella, Kinder Bueno, Kinder chocolate, Kinder Joy and Tic Tac products by river from the port of Rouen to Wissous, near Paris. This is a 16-hour journey under controlled temperatures, on a barge chartered by STEF.

This new scheme, in association with the Demeter Club and Haropa Port, is part of the responsible transport strategy of the Italian Group, which aims to reduce its carbon footprint linked to transport in France by 7% by 2022. This new line will make it possible to switch 65% of road journeys on this route to multimodal transport.

For its part, STEF is delighted to be able to support our long-standing customer of nearly 40 years in this project.

This landmark operation is a perfect illustration of the environmental commitments being made by our two groups. By working together every day to build a more sustainable food supply chain, we hope that our strong partnership will enable us to rise to the collective challenge of climate change.
