Stronger together

The fusion of Bakker Logistics and STEF Netherlands provides sufficient knowledge and capabilities to operate at the very highest level. Bakker Logistiek is strong in food storage and packaging and international distribution. STEF Netherlands is particularly strong in food transport.

This combination enables us to offer a unique service to clients. And that we can provide them with care from start to finish: from the moment their product leaves the production hall to delivery to the end user.

With the merger of the companies, we are expanding our services. A synergistic advantage of a 1+1=3 situation is created, with customers benefiting from international cooperation and efficient logistics in the broadest sense based on a ‘One-stop-shop’ principle. 

The power of synergy

We operate from four business units equal to the specialisations within STEF Netherlands: 

  • Supply Chain: Storage, order processing and distribution of food products under controlled temperature;
  • National transport: Customised temperature-controlled and ambient food distribution in the Benelux;
  • International transport: Transport of temperature-controlled food products within Europe. From chilled/fresh to ambient and frozen;
  • Retail distribution: Supplying retail shops (AH and Plus/COOP).

An optimal transport capacity

The acquisition has the beneficial consequence that, due to an increase in volumes, we can make full use of the full capacity of our network. We are increasingly working with direct routes within our groupage network and it is expected that we will be able to be in both Amsterdam and Cologne with the same transit time in the near future. We are working hard on our logistics system to meet that need. That means in terms of speed, but also in terms of consistency.
