a. Collection of anonymous data:
No personal data that could identify the user are collected without their knowledge.
Nonetheless, some user data are collected automatically during the use of the site:
. Their IP address (this address is used to access the internet and is assigned to the user’s computer by their internet service provider; this information changes with each user session and does not identify them personally);
. The address of the website from which the user has linked directly to the STEF site.
. The date and time of the user’s visit to the STEF website and the pages viewed
. The operating system and browser used by the user’s computer
As a consequence, STEF collects anonymous user data (or anonymous data) from the site, such as the pages visited and search terms entered. These are not personal data as they do not, under any circumstances, allow the user to be personally identified.
STEF uses this anonymous information to improve the site’s content and obtain overall statistics on its use.
b. Collection of personal data:
The user may provide certain personal information, such as their last name, first name, e-mail address, postal address and phone number, in order to access certain functionalities and certain services, and to contact and engage with STEF’s internal departments.
This information is collected via forms that are voluntarily completed by the user.
STEF will not disclose the personal data communicated by users via the forms they complete or automated messaging to third parties. They will only be used for the purpose of exchanging information as efficiently as possible.

Cookies are used to record information about how the user browses a website. Their browser contains a function that allows them to refuse cookies (see the CNIL website for more information). Refusing cookies will not prevent the user from visiting our site but may limit its functionalities.
If necessary, the user may refuse to allow cookies by following the procedure indicated in their browser (see below)
This option can be changed at any time.
Social media plug-ins or sharing buttons may appear on our site, to access the functionality that allows users to share content from our site with other people on social media or let other people know that they have been viewing the site or their opinion on an item of content (including social media buttons such as “Like”, “Share” etc.).
Social media plug-ins may, simply by being present on the site and regardless of whether the user also uses social media platforms, place cookies on their hard disk to track their browsing and identify their areas of interest.
Cookies placed and used by third parties are subject to their own privacy policies. We recommend that users familiarise themselves with these to identify their intended use, notably for advertising purposes, and the browsing information they may collect using plug-ins, so that they can make their choices. In particular, these protection policies are intended to allow the user to choose their preferred options in respect of social media, notably by configuring their user accounts on each network.
Moreover, in order to analyse the user’s preferences and, subject to their consent, invisible pixels or tags may be placed by a third-party provider on certain of our articles and messages, to help us to identify the pages viewed, count how often they are loaded and the number of visitors, analyse traffic and produce statistics on the most popular content.
Finally, audio and video recordings, podcasts and webcasts are available through third-party service providers. Said third parties may place cookies on the user’s hard disk when they access these items, subject to their consent, to help us identify the most popular content.
